[FORTIS] Just got this vintage Fortis, do anybody have any

Both "complete" watches, both kits (dial+case+hands+rotor) missing only a movement, to create a fake watch. As I saw, they are usually sold from the UK, from various accounts. If you search for "Fortis case" you will find them. The watch arrived today and it is severely damaged and not as described. The movement is missing jewels, screws and is mangled around the crown stem. Furthermore, I believe it is a fake. I should have searched here first as I now see that fake Fortis watches are rather common especially on ebay. I'm almost sure is a fake one. Below some of my quick observations based on your pictures, the link you shared, and this link with pictures of the original one: 1. The lugs look shorter. 2. The finish of the back of the lugs doesn't look refined. This is not expected in a Fortis.There seems to be more fake Fortis Marinemaster Super Compressors for sale at eBay and Chrono24 than ever. In alle fairness some are advertised as beeing ”reedition” or being from ”2010-Now”. But a large part are still pushed as being from the 1970s and all are labeled ”Fortis”.

This Fortis B47 GMT Limited edition watch is supposed to be a rar.There are numerous fake Fortis watches out there. There are also a number of fake Hamiltons. I found what seemed like a reasonable deal on Etsy for a couple of Fortis world timers.I specifically asked the seller whether he had authenticated the watches.

A while back I bought a Fortis Marinemaster Super Compressor from the US. It is a watch made from NOS 70’s parts. I sold it to ‘Crouchy’ (James) a few months ago. He has relisted it in SC, and has received a PM from member michalko82 (Mike, I believe) who told him that these are fake, coming from a guy in Malaysia.Again, I can’t say with absolute certainty that this watch is a fake, but that’s what my gut says. Both Oris and Fortis “vintage” pieces are commonly faked. A quick eBay search will reveal pages of them. Did the private seller purchase this watch online? I purchased this Fortis from a US seller BEFORE learning about those Feikos and other types from India that's all over Ebay..pretty sure this one I got is a fake but any feedback would be highly appreciated!12/3/17. #3.
