Ceramic Bezel and Luminescent Display.Discover the Rolex Deepsea Challenge 50 mm watch in RLX titanium with a Intense black at Ben Bridge, an Official Rolex Jeweler authorized to sell and maintain Rolex watches.Meet the brand new Rolex Deepsea Challenge diving watch – the very first Rolex watch with a full titanium case and bracelet construction. Oh, and its case measures a massive 50mm in diameter and it’s water-resistant to 36,090 feet (11,000 meters).
Today, Rolex is continuing its legacy of deep-sea derring-do with the launch of the new Deepsea Challenge. It's crafted out of what Rolex calls RLX titanium – which makes it the brand's first all-titanium watch – and is rated to an unfathomable 11,000 meters (36,090 feet) of water resistance.Waterproof to a depth of 11,000 meters (36,090 feet) with a unidirectional 60-minute rotatable bezel, the Rolex DeepSea Challenge is amongst the ultra-resistant divers’ watches engineered by Rolex for deep-sea exploration.
The use of RLX titanium to craft the case and bracelet solved a significant problem: the issue of wearability. A particularly light metal, RLX titanium has reduced the weight of the Deepsea Challenge by 30 per cent compared to that of the experimental watch used in James Cameron’s 2012 expedition. In 2022, Rolex launched a 50mm titanium dive watch called The Deepsea Challenge (Reference 126067) in the Sea-Dweller line up. I finally got my hands on this. Aside from being produced in titanium, it’s a hulking 50mm wide and rated water-resistant to no less than 11,000m. That’s just its rating, though, and Rolex actually tested the watch to 125% of that (as is standard for dive watches) meaning a depth of 13,750m.
The Deepsea Challenge is worn on an RLX titanium (grade 5) 3-link Oyster bracelet, equipped with a folding Oysterlock safety clasp, Glidelock extension system and Fliplock extension link. Very classic, still superbly executed and fully equipped. There she blows!
